A big thank you to everyone who participated in our recent survey on workplace challenges and the hybrid work model. We’re excited to share some key insights with you. Let's dive in!

Workplace Challenges

Our recent survey revealed a number of top challenges for hybrid work environments, including tracking workplace utilization (76%), employee engagement (45%), workplace satisfaction (42%) and employee safety and security (41%).

In the Information Technology sector, this trend is even more pronounced, with 94% prioritizing workplace utilization, while in the Financial Services industry, the focus is predominantly on employee engagement (79%) and security (64%).

In Higher Education, we see less concern with employee engagement (33%) and security (11%).

Persona insights reveal that facility managers are keen on optimizing real estate costs (57%), while IT specialists align closely with the priorities of the organization they work for.

The survey also highlighted the widespread use of emergency notifications (95%) across multiple channels, such as MS Teams, Slack and SMS, as well as digital signage (57%) utilized for announcements and room management, and tools for tracking workplace satisfaction (40%).

The Hybrid Work Model

The survey discovered key trends in the adoption and impact of the hybrid work model. We've split the top findings in three categories.

Adoption of Hybrid Policies

A majority of organizations (58%) use a flexible hybrid work model, allowing employees to choose when they come into the office. Meanwhile, 19% implement role-based policies, and another 19% require fixed office days. When it comes to hybrid adoption, 51% of companies have most of their workforce (81-100%) working in a hybrid setup. Additionally, over half (53%) of organizations don’t have a set schedule for reviewing their hybrid work policies, with only 21% making annual updates.

Savings

Financially, 17% of businesses report savings of more than $500 per employee each month through hybrid work, while 22% estimate $300-500, and 38% report savings between $100-300 per employee.

Benefits

When it comes to benefits of hybrid work, the top cited ones include improved work-life balance (76%), enhanced employee satisfaction and retention (64%), and reduced operational costs (40%). A smaller percentage also noted increased productivity, access to a wider talent pool, and better collaboration.
